Psychological and physical therapy

I will discuss the need to include psychological therapy to people who are in physical rehabilitation.
To begin, we will say that physical rehabilitation is understood as the process where the disabled patient, start to recover a functional motor skills or  compensate these function. It is important to understand that in this process is also considered functional capacities: the psychological and social, so it is necessary to work together professionals from different areas

In these time we speak of multidisciplinary work, as professionals from different areas come together with a common goal, to support the different needs of the patient. In the case of physical rehabilitation patients are expected to multidisciplinary team consisting of physiotherapist, occupational therapist, orthopedist, psychologist or psychiatrist.
I expect that these new process of rehabilitation  integrated different  points of view. When the patient is treated in various aspects is necessary that there be a link between each therapy, they need a constant psychological support. The professional in charge of physical rehabilitation should not forget that you are dealing with a person with all the personal and social complexities that this involves.

From this it is necessary that the patient should go in parallel with physical rehabilitation and psychological therapy.
However, the professionals who perform physical management of rehabilitation should handle certain psychological aspects to create ties. They need find a better way to integrates the patient during the entire rehabilitation process.
Information from the National Foundation for disabled (2010) show that in Chile there are more than 1,500,000 disabled people who, for the most part have failed to adapt to society.

These information represent the deficiency of our rehabilitation system, because don,t  take all the topics necessary for the complete recovery. We are not only in front a physical problemns we also are in front patient whit difficulties to adjusting to a new lifestyle.
These procces sometimes is shared with depression, anxiety, stress and frustration. That is why the professional must consider, even when are not part of their field, because they influence in the rehabilitation.
